BT's Kevin Frankish comes to Painted Rock Animal Farm & Animal Sanctuary to meet Fred!

Bullet the pig welcomes Kevin Frankish to              Painted Rock Animal Farm & Sanctuary!



Today we had the pleasure of meeting Toronto's Breakfast Television Host Kevin Frankish.  Kevin came up to Painted Rock Animal Farm & Sanctuary to meet Fred the steer after I had emailed a picture of him to the show for a topic about pets people have and the names they give them.  I was delighted to see that our boy Fred's picture was one of the ones selected, I felt like a proud Mom.

To my surprise, the following day after I had finished morning chores, I came in and poured a coffee and tuned into BT and low and behold there was Fred's picture again.  Apparently some veiwers had emailed the show to comment on our big boy and Kevin decided that perhaps he should come to meet him.




I was so pleased that he brought two of his young lads, along with one of their friends.  I really love to see the kids interact with the animals.  My husband and I spend a lot of time working with the animals,  getting them to trust humans again and there is no greater reward then to see the animals in our care, calm and comfortable, gentle and affectionate and even a little curious, allowing the kids to get close enough to connect with them.  That's probably my favourite part, seeing the animals trusting people again as well as seeing the kids making a connection and engaging with them.  It's always nice to look at the animals but it's different when you can get up beside that animal, touch it and see their personality.



Kevin Frankish took time to visit with one of the pigs "Bullet" too.  He won him over with a handful of cookies and his kind personality.  I think Bullet was even a little star struck. Even though I was very nervous we had a really nice visit with Kevin and the boys and I must say he's even sweeter in person and it was a real thrill to have met him.
